The Olympic Stadium is lit up with flares

I am a gibbering wreck. 2005-03-09 Middlesbrough 1 Roma 0. 2005-03-15 Roma 2 Middlesbrough 1. Aggregate score 2-2. BORO THROUGH ON THE AWAY GOALS RULE TO THE QUARTER FINALS OF THE UEFA CUP!

OK, it was a bit touch and go, and Boro had to do about 20 minutes of terrifying defending. Having said that, Roma were the favourites: seeing as Boro can beat them, they can beat anyone. When's the final again?

I don't drink very often, but I think I might have to tonight. Not really to celebrate, but to mellow me out and get me to sleep sometime: my body seems to have dumped about a tonne of adrenaline into my bloodstream!

Hehe. Nothing like a thumping European match to get the blood pumping. :)

They don't seem to be doing bad this Boro side of yours.

Boro had a flaky spell a month or so ago, but recent results have been very good. OK, they lost to Charlton on Saturday, but that was when McClaren was resting NINE first team players in preparation for this Uefa Cup match.

Oooh, I'm all excited about the draw tomorrow now!

Watched the match in the pub, great stuff! Roma looked the better team but their displays of petulance were a bit distressing. Come on Boro.
